Salford named the Greenest Place to Live in the UK
Updated: Jul 13
According to the study published late last month, the formerly ‘dirty old town’ now formally owns the title of Greenest Place to Live, beating out the two front runners, Brighton and Bristol. Salford has more energy-efficient homes, more recycling, the lowest co2 emissions and more green spaces, earning the prestigious title and ranking.
The city is currently developing the most energy-efficient new properties in England and Wales whilst also preserving and creating more green spaces than any other city council. With a lower-than-average ranking of co2 emissions, the innovative design of the city focuses on community wealth-building and environment. Salford had also invested millions into green developments and infrastructure back in 2009, leading the way for other cities to follow suit.
The increase in sustainable homes contributing to this glorious ranking, supports the development of Johnson’s Square – created by The Heaton Group – which is set to convert a characterful building originally built in 1819, into 10 luxury apartments. Johnsons Square is part of a wider rejuvenation of the areas immediately surrounding Manchester City Centre.
The Heaton Group themselves heavily focus on sustainability and innovation in the development of their Smart-Homes, as their properties only use the finest materials and the latest technology to ensure they are sustainable, eco-friendly and long-lasting, keeping maintenance and upkeep to a minimum. Their passion for sustainability has led to the development of their own systems for controlling utility bills, which reduces their carbon footprint and allows for highly attractive, all-bills-included tenancies.
As a “Smart-Home”, Johnson's Square is incorporating all the technology expected by modern millennial tenants. HG Smart Technology is in-built offering solutions to everyday issues experienced by Landlords, tenants and management agents. Their innovative HG Smart Technology ensures that all parties have control over their energy usage.
