Manchester’s London Road Fire Station is set to become the latest Hive of Activity

Plans for a redevelopment of Manchester’s London Road Fire Station were released last week announcing the project of turning the Victorian building into a “hive of activity for the city”. The plans outline a regeneration and adaptation of the Grade-II listed building with areas used for commercial use and others for spaces such as a boutique hotel, a wellness facility and a gym whilst the coroners court will be preserved and used to host events and functions. The central courtyard will become the “social heart” of the redevelopment offering ranging cuisines and beverages around the edge, alongside retail and leisure facilities. With the building directly opposite Piccadilly Station, the location of this new development will be welcomed by Central Manchester.
Along the adjoining Whitworth Road, is set to be the popular new development Barclay House, offering a central location to ninety outstandingly stylish apartments in the repurposing of a landmark hundred-year old building.
